i purchased this printer yesterday, and today i got an e-mail stating that it was backordered, should ship in 10-14 days. also, on the adorama site, the description of the item did mention cartridges with a life of 500 pages. these must be included because the description also mentioned that the standard replacement cartridges are good for 1500 pages. we shall see...

500 pages at *5% coverage*. It's going to be much less than 500 pages....

the point is, it appears that the printer comes with 'starter' cartridges. i think you would agree that '...much less than 500 pages...' is a lot more than '...zero...'

UPDATE - received followup e-mail yesterday. goes something like this: 'uh, sorry folks. we, uh, made a mistake, so we're cancelling the thousands of orders we have received for this thing. have a nice day...' or words to that effect...
