Been in tampa with next to No-tv or internet. for the last 6 plus weeks.drove down with a suv full of tools ( I even seen snow flurrys one morning while i was there driving to Home Depot :( . daughter just bought a foreclosure - condo there. been working to make it liveable. remodel 2 bathrooms( tile floors, new sinks and vanitys, lights ,,,) ,replaced and repaired the heating and cooling system (replaced /repaired the duct work )replaced all the eletrical outlets and switches (found some problems there to like change placed in one socket when i took the cover off and loose wires in another). just to feel safe. installed new smoke detectors though out the whole house (there was only 2 and no batterys in them when we first arrived ) installed a garage door opener.old unit was missing. installed new doors were not able to repair old .most were rip off there hinges or damaged frames.(old owners must of had some fights and someone would take it out on the doors!)
help the daughter do some painting. she still had some to do when i pulled out till i come back in a month or so to do more repairs and improvements. (she needs more money going back when she gets her first time home buyer tax credit $8.000 ) then i start the other repairs .right now she is able to move in and the next round wont be so bad.! she only drop like 4-5 grand right now with me doing the work along side her. she got the place a very good price. for those who know tampa the house is in the Carrolwood area. this next trip will be better first off i wont be staying on a air mattress ,also she will have cable tv. but i still be living out of a suit case so thats no fun. also eatting out every day gets old and $$$$$$.
also one more thing happen and it sucked. i had pre booked a round trip air fight to tampa for 25 th of DEC.till the 31st. wife never cancled my flight thinking i would just fly back home with her on the 31th. well we eat my tickets becouse the airline canceled my whole trip. when i was not on the flight down from detroit. i called and will get some kind of credit for a small percent of the plan trip but only if i rebook with in like 6 months.they couldn't even give me a dollar amount as to what i be getting off on the next trip. :deal:
