i've tried the dolphin browser...I don't quite know if i like it. The multitouch pinch and zoom isn't quite up to par, and the double tap zoom for the default browser exactly matches the text to the width of the screen, so i really haven't found much use for the pinch and zoom feature.

LOVE my droid... hubby has the iPhone, and while Apple has more mature software & apps, I like the flexibility to change... well... almost everything!

DailyStrip - view daily comics (common ones, plus xkcd)
auduaReader - ebook reader, with a handy auto-scroll that's great for the gym
Wapedia - easy wiki app
AK Notepad - favorite note app (tried a few, this is most complete)
backgrounds - lots of free backgrounds
BatteryTime - estimates remaining battery time
CalWidget - nicer calendar widget
Mabilo Ringstones & Ringdroid - get/make free ringtones
MixZing Lite - better music player, auto downloads album art and makes suggestions for playlists
GDE - home replacement, awesome - provides extra home screens, and is super snappy
swype - not on app store, but you can find the beta online. almost faster than using the physical keyboard for typing!

games:
abduction
coloroid
frozen bubble
graviturn
bebbled
trap!

fun to show off (but not super useful):
Goggles
Google Sky Map
MetalDetecter (it works, it's weird!)

Must not look at this thread! Walk away, I do not want to get more than the basic phone I have, but look at the apps, the web capabilities. No, turn away, turn away. Just another $10 a month and I have unlimited net, STOP.
Sorry, I shouldn't look at this stuff. :))
