From what I've seen, Dell uses two possible schemes for re-installing the OS:
1) The OS image on a hidden partition that can be restored by hitting a key such as F11 at startup
2) A "recovery" CD that has the OS on it which works in conjunction with a hidden partition on the hard drive to install the OS already activated.

I made a whole $60 working on this rig.
I also saved all there doc.and pictures.
Also did three trips to there home 20 mins away.
then i get this email today .
Thanks for all the help with the computer. I have put around 50 of my favorite websites back in place already. I was going to delete some old ones so this did it for me fast.
I did find the Microsoft software under "all programs".
I have some questions on some software that I need to download on Saturday to get to some websites information though such as Adobe Flash Player and Adobe to get .pdf files plus there is something on www.statechamps.tv that I need to download as well or will Adobe Flash Player work on that website as well? This way you can tell what I need to do when you get here on Saturday. A youtube link on www.powerlineblog.com didn't want to work for me as well.
( can someone say shoot me or hang me ) it's not worth the BS - also the cheap price was becouse its a woman my wife works with.

essh. a basic reload without backing-up or reinstalling software is at least 60 on its own.

See, that's why I don't freelance for home users. Not worth the money.
