I'm trying to make some mix CDs from my MP3s. I used to do this all the time before the mp3 player became mainstream. Now it doesn't seem too straightforward. There seems to be some open-source apps out there that can do this easily but I don't know which I can trust. Any recommendations, or workarounds?

I really like BurnAware Free (http://www.burnaware.com/burnaware_free.html)... So much, in fact, that it has become my main burning app...

It does a great job on the mp3-to-CD Audio thing, and I have used it for just what you're talking about.

I've been using infrarecorder religiously on all my computers ever since you recommended it a while ago. It has been perfect until I realized the one thing (at least among what I've tried) it can't do is do MP3 > Audio CD. I'd like to try burnaware free. Is it light like infrarecorder? Would you say it's better?

I still prefer an old copy of nero, before it became bloated

Yeah, I've about given up on InfraRecorder since I found Burnaware Free. it is extremely light.

This works well, too, but it is not as light as Burnaware:

You should still be able to get a legit key...

I had a bad experience with Ashampoo software a few years ago, but this app redeemed them to me...

I'll never recommend Ashampoo again personally.

I've tried to unsubscribe from their mailing lists so many times after getting a product key from them, and they still keep sending me crap. Finally I just created an e-mail filter in GMail to get rid of them.

I have a Hotmail box that I use as a spam trap. All it gets used for is registrations or for when I HAVE to enter a real (of sorts) email address.
