Ok, i am currently running a local area network of 4 Computers, 2 with Windows 98, two with Windows 2000 (One being the main server). Both have Service pack 1 installed for Win2k, have 128mb RAM, and large hard drives & reasonable processor speeds.

Now, i've had this setup for over 2 months now with no problems until about a week ago. Now, whenever i try to save or copy large files (over 3mb) from the Win2k Machine to the Other (server) i receive the error:

(?) Local Area Network
--Network Cable Unplugged

It then continues copying the file, but the file does not open as it appears to be incomplete.

When i attempt to copy again, i get the error:

"Cannot Copy File - Specified network name no longer exists"

And then the Server Drive is unavailable and i must reboot.

I've tried copying with BOTH Win98 machines and it works Flawlessly.

What could be causing this problem between the 2 Win2k machines??? BTW, everyone has Administrator Rights to the Server.

Thanks in advance

If I had to guess, I would say it sounds like a problem with the wiring at one of the W2K machines. Try replacing the patch cables or the NICs on the offending machines. Also try swapping around the cables in the hub - could be a bad port.
