Mic not working

When I use my mic, I can hear my voice in my speakers... however i can't use internet services such as Dialpad.com to call. The recipients do not seem to be able to hear me. Anyone know what the hell is wrong?

My mic also doesn' work when I record my voice with the voice recorder. I can very FAINTLY hear my voice being recorded... but barely

are you sure the mic isn't pluged into the "line-in" input?

yeah, check the connections. you might have to play around with them to see what works best.
also, some sound cards have software that you have to configure properly to use different audio setups (AudioHQ for recent SoundBlaster cards)
