wife got a new puppy . the pups a thief and grabbing everything and running with it. thats not the problem do its a nipper .it about 10 weeks old and nips /bites any help on how to break it .i have tryed butting its foot (paw )in its mouth so it knows its dont feel good .any ideas as that don't seem to stop him .he a little handful right now its ripping up a news paper as i type this .we have given him some stuff toys and trere twice as big as the dog and he just whips them around like nothing. any ideas people i can use .my cats and beagle try to stay clear of him. the beagle i can tell is not happy having him around.

Rolled up newspaper can work wonders as well as a firm "NO!" when you swat him.

Eventually, he should get the message.

I probably won't be much help as I've never owned a dog. What I can tell you is that friday nights on the National Geographic channel are Dog Whisperer marathons.

What I was always told was to "scream" like a dog would if it was bit. I guess the idea is that, in a litter, that's how the puppy learns it's not OK. Also, if you're playing with it, if you get bit immediately stop playing and turn your back on the puppy.

That can work, but my 4 mo old puppy is teething right now, so she forgets.
