sony lcd monitor trouble

is it worth the headache trying to repair a lcd monitor?
I have a sony that the power light comes on and you see light up but not fully and then go's dim/dark screen ?

I guess it really depends on the size of the display and how old it is. LCD prices have dropped dramatically in the past few years, so if it's a couple years old you may be better off buying a brand new set.

Probably a bad capacitor in the power supply. Might be worth trying to fix yourself, but other than that LCDs are cheap these days
