Hey friends,
I'm heading to Vegas for a few days in January with wife, sis-in-law, and bro-in-law. Can anyone recommend a good shuttle service to and from the airport to our hotel? Preferably on the more affordable side.
thanks!

I'd honestly go for renting a car. You're going to want to hit up a few places, and will need cab rides to/fro...or you can just take advantage of free parking.
in the end, i think you'd come up on top renting a car.

do most hotels have free parking? i thought it was all pay and/or valet.

i have stayed in the old strip area and found the rooms were good . not so hot was circus circus . but the riviera was good . also stayed at Terrible's but its away from the main hotel areas. been like 3 years my last trip there.
heres a good site to get a idea on hotels. http://www.vegas.com/resorts/
but vegas is fantastic place to do and see . and i even did a river boat /kayac trip one trip down the black river by the hover dam .was well worth the money .

If you want to keep it cheap, there's several shuttle that you can take from the airport to the hotels on the strip for $8 per person and you can catch them right outside the airport.
The best and cheapest way to get around the strip and downtown is the Deuce which is a double decker shuttle bus that runs constantly. The best thing to do is just buy a pass for however long you're going to be there (you can look them up online or just but it when you get on). It's around $3 per trip or the day pass is $7-8 a day (with discounts for 3 days or full weeks if I remember correctly). It's a lot cheaper than taxis or renting a car and it's pretty quick and easy to use whenever you want.

Also if you're looking for shows, right after you get there look up tix4tonight. They have kiosks up and down the strip. They get tickets for a lot of shows on the strip for half price for the same night or the next night. They may not have everything available, but most of the time you can pick from some of the best shows on the strip for half price. The last time my wife and I were in vegas we picked up tickets to one of the Cirque de Soleil shows really cheap.

I haven't been there in 5+ years, but back then, they all had free self-park garages.

I was just there a couple weeks ago. If your hotel doesn't have a shuttle, you can hop the Grey Line shuttle for $12 RT pp if your hotel is on the strip ($6.50 if you buy one way tix) . . . it was comfortable and pretty quick.
Edit - just noticed you'll have 4 people . . . I'd just hop a cab . . . should be cheaper than shuttle tix for all of you.
Also, one quick thing to note if you haven't booked your room yet - watch out for resort fees - I did Priceline for my hotel - ended up at Treasure Island - not bad - but the resort fees added another 33% on top of my room rate and were not included in the quoted room pricing. Resort fees are becoming much more prevalent in Vegas now.

thanks for the info, butch!

I saw the Blue Man Group many years ago and it was a great show a lot of fun. Last time I was out I caught Mystere at Treasure Island which was a great show as well.
