Minecraft (http://www.minecraft.net) is an indie sandbox game that is addictive as all hell.

I've been playing it for about a week now. The day I showed it to my girlfriend she bought it as well.

It's 10 euros, which is ~13 bucks. The game is currently in alpha, but there is a big update coming on October 31st. It is tons of fun and I highly recommend it.

Some people complain about the graphics, but I find them very catchy and they add to the Lego feel of the game. There are some things that just don't work right yet (damage in multiplayer), but again, it's in alpha and the updates are included in the purchase price. That being said, it's extremely playable in its current state.

A friend of mine told me I HAD to play and bought me a license. I've been playing it for about 3-4 days now. Loving it!

I've already been creating some skins for the little miner guy too. :D

Haven't tried out the multiplayer yet. Have a few friends who say they have servers, but last night when I tried to connect to them I kept getting crash errors.

Multiplayer is fun, but really single player is where it's at currently. I'm really awaiting the Halloween update that notch is going to toss down.

Hopefully damage will work in multiplayer soon.

no man, multiplayer is where it's at. Get some friends together for your own server and that's where you get the really awesome buildings. It becomes a very zen game.

I went on last night to try multiplayer and it's pretty cool. Some folks build crazy-ass huge castles...I'm more of an underground shelter kind of guy myself.

But I have to agree with LPMiller...while SP is fun MP is pretty cool in it's own accord.

I've been working on building a castle lately. All from scratch without any mods/hacks/cheats. Mining stone from underneath the castle base and harvesting wood from a multiplying forest behind the castle.

I am waiting for the halloween update with bated breath.

Right now I'm working on a rooftop wheatfarm and green house.

Friends keep trying to get me to play. So far I have avoided it. He has just hit 500,000 sales though, in Alpha which is insane.

Cave in, Thesifer. It's more fun than you'd think...I promise it's not just a fad.

I'm particularly aggrivated with how confusing the entrace/exit portals are working for The Nether. May abandon screwing with them for now and continue mining normally in hopes that the next patch might fix up the portal system a bit.

Friend of mine built a to scale football stadium just outside my castle. It's the single largest thing I've seen in minecraft, and very well done. Another guy added a giant stone blimp to it.

Ive heard nothing but good things about this game. If I ever do get I'll to recreate some other game areas with it.

My next-door neighbor's 15-year-old son is addicted to this one as well. He keeps trying to get me to play it, but my time outside of work & family is pretty limited right now.
