Domain question

I have a domain I purchased for a buddy that we let expire.

The parent company that I initially purchased it from still hasn't released it as being available, and when I check the status on it, it says "redemptionPeriod." Everything I read said it should be a 30 day period, but it's been more like 60.

Any idea how long it'll remain in this state? Of course I can reclaim it and reactivate it for an arm and a leg. It's a pretty obscure name with no business implications surrounding it, just kind of a "funny" place we used to store party pics, etc.
