#1 we will never, EVER have pop up ads...uh, on PURPOSE...as long as Apex has breath and pocket change. So obviously those are glitches. But that's a promise. We hate the damn things too.

#2 Yes, those are 2 banner ads. Give us an opinion, we are playing around with ads from realgn and MaxPC. I think it actually looks ok, but I know how finicky you guys are.

I think if your going to have 2 banners you shouldn't have them the standard banner size, maybe a little shorter and side by side?

The placement of the two banner ads are not very ideal for us right now. I think it looks squished, but unfortunately Apex and the crew all have bills to pay. We don't like the look, but we hope to have it look nice again once we figure out the best way to do this.

LOL thanks Happoo. actually I think the banners look fine. MANY sites have two banners at the top. The way we look at is that in order to stay in business and keep on bringing daily truckloads of content a small concession must be made. If that means an extra banner I trust that we can all cope with it or even get use to it.

i'm actually not minding the two banners up top either - mostly because the top-most links directly to another geek site which has good content.

in fact, that's one of the few ad spaces i've seen that's effective. the banners are decent enough looking, and the content's appropriate for this site. good call.

(er, now you just need to write back to me to get my dern psa up :))

Thanks for the support folks. You guys all probably know about the ad banner market right now. For right now, it's a necessity for us. I agree, 2 banners is far better than 1 banner and a popup.

Anyhow, as always all opinions are welcome. Thanks again.

WHENEVER YOU GUYS GET A POP UP, BE SURE AND NOTE WHAT ADS WHERE BEING DISPLAYED AT THE TIME! I think this might help the admins out, right?

I take back my last pop up complaint... I was on my gf's pc, and she has netzero... so it wasnt from here, it was from them...

How do you turn off the javascript?

I.E. 5.5, i did the tools => Options => Advanced and unclicked everything that had java in it. still get popups.
