I'm i wrong or are the stores trying to unload all there 720p TV's they have in stock. are the manufactures done with 720p and 1080p and higher are all that will be avail in the next year or so?
I'm asking because it seems like in all the ads I'm seeing TV's are being pushed at good prices are of the 720p spectrum ?

For a smaller TV, 720p is just fine. I'd snatch one of those up in a heartbeat for the right price just to put in the bedrooms and such.

32" and lower is what i hear is the 720p range

Personally Id say you could go higher since the source generally isnt 1080 anyway.

Cable "HD" channels, usually arent really HD as they compress it to fit more channels, I dont do blueray, just DVD, or pipe video from my PC which is either a hosted video, or DVD in xVid format.

I've been waiting on the right deal for a flat screen to mount on our family room wall. The 55" RCA 240MHz LCD for $900 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=R104-5500&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=Es5Ekr9eEBk-DhyMXL2eTZRIqB7FEiOe_Q) (with coupon code ZWO10153) from TigerDirect right now is piquing my interest.

I have a 32" 720p TV in my "office" (i.e. my 3rd bedroom) and it works out great considering the size of the room.

When I watch HD channels, everything is very sharp and looks really good.

EDIT: Today at Sam's club, I saw a Vizio 42" 1080p TV for $489... SOOOO TEMPTING!!!!

The sale on this ends tomorrow so if you want in, you'd better act fast.

The reality is if you are sitting a normal distance from most TV's all the way up to about 50" the human eye can't really see the difference between 720p and 1080p. A very small percentange of the population with sensetive eyes may see a tiny difference but, we're only talking a few percentage points improvement which doesn't make going to 1080 important if you can pick up a 720 for a good price.
