my 2002 Saturn vue just started this Tuesday or wednesday..
Started the car, drove it under a mile, parked, went back into the car and went to start it..it hesitated for a moment and started but seem to run ruff. i get on to the highway and it gets a lack of power, the check engine light is on. I drive it back to the house 1 mile and turn the car off . let it sit for a couple of mins and then try restarting it same problem. friend came over with a engine initializer that plug into the port under the dash . it came up with no reports !

Sounds like you need to take it to someone who has the right tools, equipment, and expertise to successfully diagnose and repair the vehicle's problem...

that is were I'm taking it Wednesday via a car hauler trailer. this friend of mine is the heavy mechanic for the local GM dealer. if he can't fine the problem he will haul it into the shop. the shop is also a Authorized GM Saturn dealership. (not all of GM Chevy dealerships are Saturn approved ). but he said he may have some parts at his house that will work if they are the problem. just keeping my fingers and toes crossed at this point.

I don't know anything about Saturns, but I do know timing chains are supposed to be fairly bullet proof, and they're supposed to last hundreds of thousands of miles. What's wrong with the chain and how did they diagnose it? I'm also concerned that a modern car would light a MIL but not give an error code.

you can hear on my car a strange noise coming from the motor. i know there been a sight rattle sound. this is a personal friend who i have know for close to 25 years. who gave me the bad news and he not one to sell me or anyone something they don't need.
he is also a HVAC installer. but keeps the HVAC company as a side line because he needs heath insurance for the family.
he works full time at a GM dealer as there heavy mechanic. he also did the repairs on my car at his house and gave me the parts off a motor he got from his job ! I full trust him and he really was not looking to do my timing chain. he just was giving me his professional advice. i checked out parts online last night and the parts to do my timing chain will be about $300 alone.
