The tripod is sturdy and the fluid head (this is a REAL fluid head, not a fluid "effect" head which plain suck) is smooth. Controls are easy to use with adjustable tension knobs for all degrees. At $64.99, it's the cheapest on the net and IS the cheapest for a true fluid head tripod. This will do double duty for the family portraits snapshots as well. The free shipping sweetens the deal and the no tax (except in NY) clinched it for me to pick up another. I'd get it soon before they raise the price. VELBON VIDEOMATE 607 TRIPOD WITH 2 WAY FLUID HEAD DEAL
