when looking at new cars .what do you look at more. lets say your looking for a SUV for the heck of it.
if there was 2 MPG diffrents between model A over model B .
but model B looked better to you . both SUV had all the same options and color and price . would you take Looks over MPG.

Style...

Works everytime. :D

Pretty much, it just depends on what you "value" in a vehicle. If you just see it as a "mode of transportation", then go for the one with the better MPG.

However, if you feel that your vehicle is a "reflection of your personality", then by all means get the one that ultimately is going to make you feel good. 2 MPG really isn't that much... now if we were talkin' a 10 MPG difference, then maybe the decision would be different. :D

I guess it depends on how much better i thought it looked. 2mpg is a lot in the long run....especially since I dont see gas prices going below $3 anytime soon

Between the missus and I, our cars consume maybe 500 gallons of gas total a year, so MPG has always been pretty low on the priority list. My most efficient vehicle is my sports coupe, at 18MPG. I bought it for style and performance. My daily driver is neither stylish nor fuel efficient. I bought it for the power and creature comforts (stylish interior?).

If it was for me? style. for my wife? mpg.
like this because i walk to work and the mrs drives way too many miles for work.
but, ironic cuz i would always choose practicality over looks, and the mrs would always choose looks over practicality.

I drive 60 miles a day. For me it mpg just because I know my car will be dinged and scratched. It's just going to happen.

Style... I'll also spend extra for the bigger engine.

I chose style over MPG. Though I'll say that the figures for MPG are misleading and I've heard that manufacturers can fudge those numbers a bit, like AVR companies can fudge how many Watts per Channel they truly output. (not sure how true that is)

Keep in mind that if you try to drive a prius like a mustang, it will get mustang mileage.

Honestly, I think you should compare apples to apples. Price is the same, but what about quality? that extra 2 miles per gallon may add up, but not if it's a cheaply built piece of junk that has hard to find parts.
*This is exactly why I didn't buy a VW CC. Nice looking car, but not enough are made, it's very expensive for the class and the quality ratings were low compared to other midsize cars.
