only for police in uniform and the govt. Wild stuff is going on there and I wouldnt mind seeing it first hand. My future grandkids will probably learn about this in their history class

in all the articles i've read, i haven't read too much about what's happening to the tourists. i wonder how resort places like sharm el-shiekh are doing. i still would love to visit egypt sometime in my lifetime.

the tourists are fine. the only clash is between protestors and police...so basically as long as you dont get too close to the action you would be fine.

Fine...relativly speaking of course. Personally Id be alongside the protestors if my internet was cut off while i was there.

Give me Hulu or give me death!

If for some reason I get sent over there, I'd join the protesters for the same reason!

I listened to a student at the American University at Cairo, and she said the protesters welcomed them, and she felt safe among them.

Well...the anti-Mubarak protectors seem to be far more welcoming to outsiders and news outlets. The pro-Mubarak forces, including the cops are reportedly fairly out of control. I've been following the events and it's kinda scary for normal people there. They have been creating neighborhood groups to protect their houses from looters who, according to most reports are police and pro-Mubarak supporters trying to give the protestors a bad name.
