Currently I have a MSI 790FX-GD70 mobo with 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 Memory, an AMD Phenom II x3 Black Edition CPU, and an MSI R4850-2D1G-OC Radeon 4850, 1GB video card.

Currently Newegg has a XFX HD-485X-ZNFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB video card available for $69.99 after rebate with free shipping. Specs are almost identical to the MSI card and I do not believe that MSI makes the HD 4850 anymore.

Would this be money well spent? Are there any compatibility issues of which I should be aware in running two different brands in CrossFire?

Future upgrades may be unlocking the 4th core on the CPU and adding more memory. Thank you in advance for your advice.

What resolution do you run? What's the main purpose of your rig? Running 2 different brands is fine.

Much thanks for the info. The second card would be for enhanced gaming, which I haven't had time to do for a while. I've been more into making wine and beer. My monitor's default is 1920 x 1200 x 32 bit but I'm hoping to run games at their best fluid resolution. I think $70 is a small price to keep a system up-to-date.
