Oh boy...the memories I have of college days and getting drive-away cars to get places. My experiences with those places was to wash my hands very carefully after leaving their offices, as I didn't want any of the sleeze to follow.
A friend and I did have one pretty good experience. We were transporting a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Classic from Illinois to Miami in August 1972 (i.e., a month before the car was released). A dealer was "sending" it down to Florida for his parents. The '73 model was the first year of the "5 mph bumpers" so the front end was quite distinct. My friend was pretty "hippie" looking (and I had kind of long hair and a beard myself) so it was really pretty strange for the two of us to be driving that car. We pulled into some Tennessee gas station (there was a section where the interstate wasn't complete) to get gas (stations were full service then) and were laughing when we left because all 4 of the station attendants were standing around our car while all the other cars waited for service. We ended up driving the previous year's car back from Florida (it had 3000 miles on it when we picked it up) so it was a pretty nice deal for us.

Uship seems to be doing a great job helping people shift their cars from one place to another..
