I was killing time on Wikipedia and came across this story about Marjan, a lion who used to live at the Kabul Zoo in Afghanistan. This has got to be one of dumbest things I've heard in a long time.

In 1993, a man who made a bet with the rest of his friends sneaked into the lion’s den. The man stroked Chucha, the lioness, who did not react, but Marjan attacked the man and killed him within minutes. The following day, the man’s brother came and threw a hand grenade into the lion’s den, rendering Marjan blind in one eye (which had to be removed), deaf, and permanently disabled. Despite several surgeries, neither Marjan’s eyesight nor his mouth could be saved. He lost all of his teeth, making it impossible for him to eat boned meat. A ramp was also built for him to get back into his den, as he was seen falling a few times while trying to make it back inside. The incident sparked an outrage with animal rights activists. The man who threw the grenade was violently attacked a week later, and died of injuries.
Pretend you had this retarded brother who sneaked into the lion's cage and, surprise, gets eaten. What do you do? Throw a grenade at the lion, of course. Seriously? I mean, you know it's a f***ing lion, right? And they f***ing kill things, that's kinda what f***ing they do, right? (Which, not ironically, is what made it such great fun for your bro to go in there in the first place.)
And then you get mauled and killed by animal rights protesters. Now THAT is poetic justice.
I'm not angry or ranting, really. Just the sheer stupidity of the whole thing has me LOLing hard in an incredulous *rolls eyes* OMFG! kinda way. Sometimes people are so unbelievably stupid.
