I have a problem with windows. I tried to load some games on my computer, but after I did. My windows eexplorer just went dead. There is a error message. How do I fix it?

eexplorer is performing a illegal opperation. and it just closes everything. I can't do anything. I can open any windows or anything. What to do!!

What version of Windoze? You may be able to restore the registry

Boot to a command prompt. Run "scanreg /fix" or "scanreg /restore" from the command prompt. The first will attempt to repair a corrupt registry (if there is a problem) and the second will let you restore a backup of the registry. I think that win98 keeps 5 days worth, by default. Give it a crack, you might get lucky.
