I am trying to come up with a simple and easy to remember domain name for the website I am designing. Unfortunately, my first few choices are not available...so I am left trying to come up with another option. I am trying to avoid using my name or other longer standard domain names. However, I am worried that some of the ideas that I am kicking around may be taken wrong. Consequently, I would like to know what you would think the following domain would likely lead to.
Here are the two that I am questioning: (These are non existing possibilities)
awflaw.com or aflaw.com
Please give me your honest first impressions as to what you might think the website would be and whether you would question it.
Thanks.

Law firm was first thing that popped into my mind.

Honestly if I didn't already know that you practice law... I really wouldn't know what that name would refer to. Sometimes you just have to be a bit more conspicuous when it comes to domain names.
Also, keep in mind that you can use hypens in your name if necesary to get the name you really want to use (if available).

I kept thinking Aflac. Or some butchering of the word "awful"

another vote for "awful", that's what jumped into my head when I read it.
how about aflegal.com or awflegal.com?

aflegal.com sounds better but awflegal.com still jumps out and says awful legal or awfully legal.

Well I didn't know you practiced law and that's what jumped.
I think I might shy away from the 'w' but then again it could be a self deprecating play on words of sort (awful).
Also consider buying multiple extensions of the domain (.net/.biz/etc) to avoid someone creating a similar bogus site.

when i see it first, i think "a flaw" the word "flaw" really comes out to me more than law.
you can also think about purchasing multiple domain names, eg. aflaw.com AND af-law.com
and have them all redirect to a single site - in case you advertise af-law.com (to make it look better), but people forget the hyphen and only type aflaw.com.

Thanks for the help. So it appears that my concern that it may be viewed as awful and/or a flaw is warranted. I was trying to keep the domain name short to make it simpler and easier to remember.

yeah... the awf part does spoil the mix as an acronym.
Can you possibly spell out what it stands for and then put "legalservices.com" behind it?
It still wouldn't be too long I'd hope.

If you DO end up using a domain like that, it would help if you capitalize on all of your marketing material to make it stand out a little more:
AFLaw.com or AWFLegal.com
Makes a big difference for such unfortunate URLs as speedofart.com (SpeedOfArt.com)
