I need to buy a gift and I was wondering...
what is a really good manicure set?

also, how good are glass nail files? What's the benefit?

How about those Safety Razor sets? Other than that, a manicure set doesn't pop out at me as a thoughtful gift. It could be taken the wrong way like your nails are long and dirty. Or hey those nose hairs are getting kind of wild so I got you some clippers.

Just a thought.

Normally I might agree, but the GF decided she doesnt want to do camera work full time as the hours are too long (12-16hrs a day) so she is curently in massage school and she plans to freelance both.

So she needs to keep her nails trimmed and always is hunting around for and usually forgetting to buy nail files and such.

Anyway, I found one by Dovo which apparenlty is a higher end German made line. But thanks for the suggestion.

Its similar to that one but a 5 or 6 piece in a regular lether case. Found a $5 coupon and with free shipping, it only came to $100.

she has to be one special girl and lucky to have you to drop that type of cash for a nail clipper!
the truth be told me and most the guys i know would spend more on the birthday card then the nail set and took her out to dinner .thinking we were major spenders :)

I've learned its worth spending decent money on your tools. And for her this will be part of her trade.

Christmas was a bit more insane, as I opted to buy her a portable massage table. Fortunately a cousin of mine just finished the same degree she was at that time planning to start. So he clued me in on what the best table was, and that ran over $600. But then again it was also a gift for me as I get a practice massage every week.

appropriate response. :hihi:

i think it's a waste of money to spend $100 on a manicure set.
due to my occupation i also need to keep my nails neatly trimmed.
not advocating a dollar store get up, but any nice manicure set sold in the jewelry/cosmetic dept will do the job.

Get her this set and some matching Burberry Brit perfume, and still come in under a hundred.

The manicure set is not burberry. :P
The plaid pattern did remind me of burberry so I matched it up.

It's this one. It looks quality to me.

Well, everyone has their own criteria for purchases, and I already purchased the German one last week, but...

What stands out to me on that page is that there is no description of who makes the actual tools, what they are made out of, or a review of anyone who has purchased from them before.

Also the only description is the store selling it calling it "premium quality" and giving a partial list of what is in the set.

Yup. Germany tends to make quality/higher end products. They chose to not compete with China on price, and they came out better for it. China is also one of their biggest importers on German products.
