I snagged a few wild blueberries and raspberries this weekend and I figured Id try my hand at growing them from seed.

I never realized how many seeds were inside them.

Apparently i have to keep them moist and cold for 30-90 days (30 for rasp, 90 for blue).

So they are spread out and sandwiched between wet paper towels in ziplock bags that arent currently sealed, but I will check on moisture and seal in a few days.

you are quite the cultivator. i would just buy the plants and start them that way.

we get blueberries from NJ in the stores here. the bigger the better, and jersey seems to have good growing conditions.

Store bought/buying plants from garden centers will yeild bigger and better looking fruit, but so far the taste of the wild ones were better.

i don't taste it that way. the larger blueberries taste sweeter to me. same with blackberries, which grow wild here readily. the larger, plumper blackberries are the juiciest and sweetest.

i do think the smaller, wild blueberries are better in muffins though.
