Every day on my ride home from work, if I get out at the wrong time I get stuck behind a school bus. And somewhere along the line some idiots in charge apparently thoguht ti was a good idea to have a school bus make 3 seperate stops on the same block which is only 600ft long.
And it's not even like the stops are equally distant from eachother. The last 2 stops are less than 100ft apart!

yeah, I undertand. When I was a kid I lived 1.5 miles away from school....I walked every day, EVERY DAY. My son today is 8 yrs old and we live 15ft inside the bus radius. My son cant even walk outside the circle and and get picked up. If i didnt drive him every day, he would be forced to cross three major roads in order to get to the school.. My point is, it that there is suck stupidity with parents and the busses. grrrrr I get ya. I got stuck behind a bus today that stopped every 300 ft for 4 miles

Well not justifying the multiple stops, but I do have a question. What age group is on that bus? Are we talking Elementary kids here or high schoolers?
The only reason it makes a difference is basically in distance that those kids have to walk home (basically the younger kids are allowed for more stops than the older ones.) When DFJ was in elementary school the bus actually stopped in front of my house.. but now in middle school, he has to walk about 2 1/2 blocks down to the bus stop off of a much busier street (and yes, that same bus does make another stop on the main road which is quite busy about 2 blocks down to pick up more kids from an apartment complex.)
Either way, I realize that it is a pain to get caught behind the bus... but as a parent we just want to make sure that the kids are safe especially when they are alone and walking themselves to their respective houses.
I guess it just depends on the circumstances. If you have kids of your own, it might just color your perspective on it a bit. (especially since 600 feet is 2 football fields.... and on a busy road that can be a long way for a kid to walk safely depending on the circumstances...)

its a side street
the kids are between 3rd grade and 8th grade id guess based on height.

I think in my area the bus stops at each house now, but it's because bussing is no longer a service provided by the district at not cost. You now have to pay for bussing if you want/need it so they come to your address if you pay for it.

got stuck behind the bus today too. sucked. 2 stops along my street. each one, there were parents who drove their kids. these are safer side streets mind you. and not so long of a walk for everyone...
