I've been sipping this new concoction for a few weeks and thought I'd share the recipe. It's an awesome summer drink (better late than never).
If you're near an Ikea, stop in and pick up a bottle of their elderflower syrup: SAFT FLÄDER (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30117107?query=SAFT+FL%C3%84DER+Elderflower+syrup).
Mix it with an equal measure of gin (I use Gordon's, kept in the freezer), then add 2-3 measures of water or seltzer. Take a sip. If it's too sweet, add a bit more gin or water/ seltzer.
The gin and elderflower meld beautifully together. It's a fantastic, dainty, florally combination with a bit of a puckery feel like lemonade or unsweetened tea. Thirst quenching and packs a punch.
