Can WIN98 boot disk recognize a SCSI CD-Rom?
I have a Tekram 390U2W hooked to a Plextor 40X UW.
I boot from Win 98 and CD-Rom cannot be found.
I flashed the 390U2W already......It sucks...so becareful.
My plex did not recognize any cd after the flash. So the orginal setting is back.

THANKS,

NHB

I think you need to load drivers of some sort in the config.sys file so it can recognize the scsi cdrom.

The BIOS has to be able to boot from a secondary controller for you to be able to boot the way you want to. What motherboard are you using? Alot of current boards allow for it, but not all. Unfortunately, it's not something that is standard. After all, not that many people need to do it.

Okay I have a ABIT KT7 RAID.
With a Tekram SCSI 390U2W.

What I really wanna do is to image my machine.
But the W2K Server file system is such a b!tch.

Thanks!

I had the same problem I was never able to get it working properly. I stuck my IDE CD rom on there temporarily and copied all the files from the cdrom to the hard drive. The installation went much smoother that way.
