Information Age? This sucks

Info Age my ass!

Remember back about 5 years ago when you could pull just about any information you needed in a matter of seconds? That was the fuckin information age.

Now we live in a commercial age. Remember when we used to go to the movies and see "Trailers" before a movie instead of Jeep commercials and Perfect Dark previews? What the crap is that?

I go to a popular search engine and try to research an illness or biological condition. All I can pull up is some pharmaceutical pill-pushing site or some lousy forum topic that's entirely worthless. (Like this one)

I am so sick of everything on the internet being about money. You can't "go" anywhere anymore without being flooded with pop ups and quick solutions to debt/romance/education completely mass marketed to the village idiot in all of us.

What the hell? Where's all the free shit at that's supposed to be at our fingertips? Remember last year's SuperBowl? The commercials were all for dot-com crap. I'm all for making money. I understand the need for banners and ads. But give me a damn break. Quit jamming this highway with crap that this world just doesn't fuckin need. (i.e. Dudechat)

We need to have two separate internets. One place to go to learn, for a small access fee-nothing else. And these commercialized yuppie *******s bent on "going global" can rotate on a flagpole while their site is selling on the other.
Until then, GotApex is my last refuge. A good free site/community showing you where the "good" buys are. No bullshit. This Commercial Age sucks.

As much as I hate ads, that's the price you have to pay for the so-called free Internet.There are only a few free ISP's left. The only reason they survived was income from advertisers. I don't know how many people in today's society have the luxury of posting updated info daily on the Net without receiving an income. There may be quite a few who do it for the fun of it, but for the long term, I doubt there are many.Most people like to be paid for work: I know that I do.
Maybe there are a lot of retired and chronically unemployed people who would do this kind of work for an extended period of time just for the fun of it.
I don't think that there are many people who would pay small monthly fees to access a site. That would be a real hassle. But if all of the free sites eventually give up, that may be the only alternative.

I think I was pissed that every time I did a search for information, all I got was merchandise sites.

Fuck that. The internet should be free. Commercialized sites are destroying search engines so thats why message boards, like this, are becoming so much more precious. GA has found a nitch and thats why I think it'll be around a lot longer than lets say Hotbot.
