After seeing the trailers and hearing about John Carter before that, I decided to read the books (Just three of them so far). It's a free download. I enjoyed the first 3 books but the 4th one I just can't get into or past the first 3 chapters.

That being said I hope the movie does well. Anyone expecting to see this movie or read the books?

So, I never heard of this, and the trailer comes up and my wife is like... is this a new Terminator movie?

so, they don't seem like they're related, but... are they?

You're joking right?

John Carter isn't anything like Terminator. It's about a human on Mars.

It's based on a series of books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, so been around a long, long time.

After reading John Carter and the Hunger Games, I like John Carter over the Hunger Games. John Carter is more descriptive and imaginative for a book published over 75 years ago and even compared to the Hunger Games.

I read some reviews that knowing what we know now of Mars, the landscape in John Carter is impossible. However, I distinctly remember they mention that the tech of Mars completely hides the events on Mars from other worlds (Earth) using things like telescopes. So I think these reviewers got the cliff notes of the books without every reading them or just don't remember.

I have the Mars Trilogy, I need to start up a new book, so maybe I'll make it that.
