Hello everyone, I have a quick question. It's been a while since I've had to worry about memory, and man, things have changed. I currently have a 128MB SDRAM chip and I'm looking to add a 256MB module. I'm pretty confused and I'm getting conflicting info on the clock level ratings and the CAS rating. My question is as follows: Is PC133 RAM backwards compatible with all SDRAM modules? Will it work in a PC66 system? Also, what is the preferred CAS rating? Is it 2 or 3? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. One last question... Does CAS2 RAM work in any motherboard, or does it require special systems? Thanks.

PC133 will also work with combinations of PC66 or PC128.. The difference is latency. Good PC133 is usually 7.0ns, while good PC100 is usually 8.0ns. The advantage of obtaining PC133? Faster. Also, compatable with future upgrades. Everytime I am at a computer show and see people purchace PC100 ram, I always cringe!
