This weekend I started playing Giants (ver1.1)-and it kept crashing (hardlock). I noticed my CPU was getting fairly hot (48-49 degrees), so I removed my overclock and am running with a FSB of 103. Today, it's still crashing-back to the desktop or hard locking.

Is it my computer? Could it be that the game is heating up my cpu too much and the game is become unstable? Everything else I've used runs fine with a FSB of 115.

I'd appreciate some input.

Giants is wickedly buggy. With the holiday shopping season approaching Interplay wanted to recoup some of what it spent on Giants which was in development for years. So Giants was prematurely released buggy.

Oh yeah there's another patch on the way for Giants.

48-49 degrees is hot for a coppermine Pentium III. What type of cooler are you using Bires?

I have a retail P3, and I would rather not void my warranty. (snicker)

I have also heard that Giants is buggy, however I didn't crash one time in that game from beginning to end. I would usually hit temps of 40C (38C is usual load temp) on my 1.1 T-bird with a GeForce Ultra. Absolutely beautiful game though!
