I have had this set up for awhile just left and right in... My question is, is it possible to have all audio out to stereo in spdif (digital format)... If I do this will this eliminate the interference by the mouse... when i scroll around I hear disruptions

I have my Live! card connected through a digital cable to my reciever and it sound great, but it won't eliminate the problem your having. That problem usually has to do with the IRQ's on your computer.

What cable did you use hapoo? I have mine piped in with a standard RCA cable, and it picks up all sorts of nasty interference...

mini-headphone jack to RCA, I get no interference at all. Very clean sound. Digital shouldn't pick up much interference.

AmRivlin.

I think that this problem is usually caused by poor video card drivers. There isn't enough "bandwidth" to carry the audio/video signal(through the BUS (i think))...so the video card interferes with the audio...

Anyway, I think that this is the problem...

thats what they say in the winamp faq. It could be bad drivers, but your card isn't taking that much actual bandwidth.

what kind of interference are you getting? what does it sound like? How think is your cable?

It sounds like crappy interference! Umm, a mid range pitched noise, constant... hmm, although I dont get it when only one RCA jack is plugged in... I just realized that... Its just a standard RCA, nothing fancy... I also have a female-female extender in the middle, as I couldnt find a 35' cable, so i had to get 2 25'.

Also, is there anyway to run a digital line from the SB Live to the Amp?

Sure.. you need to get an add-on card for your SB Live!. http://www.hoontech.com

Then you just run an optical cable to your Amp/Receiver.

It is just noticable when the "hand" in the web (THAT GOOD OL mac hand) pops up or i scroll or in winamp when clicking anything... Also if turned up damn loud a slight AV hum is noticable... I have an Ensoniq 64 = Creative SB 64d Mini headphone out to y red and white... I just bought a pair of headphones... real nice... but the hum fuzzy noise is more noticable since it is directly on my ear.

you dont have to buy anything if your Receiver has a coax-input. Mine is connected this way, from the digital out (looks like a headphonejack) to my Pioneer amp, into the connection for a LaserDisk. 1 RCA Cable, 1 RCA to MiniJack, No Distortion

Like the Digital Din on the Digital I/O card? Is that the connector you are using? Thats what my Speakers are hooked up through, using the DIN connnector, like a PS/2 one. The connectors on the Digital I/O card are as follows...

Digital Din - Hooked up to current speakers
SPDIF in RCA
SPDIF out RCA
Mini DIN MIDI in
Mini DIN MIDI out

On the actual SB Live card:
Line In
Microphone Out
Line Out Front
Line Out Rear
Joystick/MIDI

I currently have an 1/8->RCA adapter in the Front Out, then running the 50' of RCA to the back of my Amp. It does have Coax inputs as well...

I see now Hapoo... you have something along the lines of the SB Live Value Digital, which includes a digital out with a headphone jack... you punk!

I have the Live! MP3+ Card. I chose this card with this use in mind (or else i would have never exchanged it with my Ensoniq)

On-Board Connectors
Digital Out (front & rear S/PDIF output)
Line in
Microphone in
Line level out (front) / Headphone out
Line level out (rear)
MIDI / Joystick port
Telephone Answering Device in
MPC-3 Analog CD Audio in
Digital CD Audio in
Expansion header for Optical Digital I/O card or Live!™ Drive (available separately)
