Got|Apex? AGI 56x CD-ROM and 16x DVD-ROM IDE Drives Review 02/27/2001

This is the only place I could find a review for either of these units... I was searching for an Afreey 56X today locally, and the people I talked to all, yes all, were pushing these things on me instead. They cited things like reliability and return rates being nothing short of atrocious on the afreey drives. I thought it was pretty decent looking, but I need these things to do DAE at the highest rates achieved only in reviews on Afreey, Plextor, and Pioneer drives, and none of these people could produce any figures at all. They cited that Sony would not want DAE advertised because they are also A major entertainment label as well as a PC part distributor... That made some sense, but I still can't believe that to be 100% correct. In any case, I thought I'd register and come to you for this data? I want to get a good drive, and if AGI is up to the task, then i'll go pick one up post haste at the computer show tomorrow or somewhere locally, otherwise, it's gunna be between an Antec DHI-G40 and A Pioneer DVD-116 as these two garner easy recommendations from all the top Optical review sites. Also, noise is a big concern for me as well, I have a Toshiba 32X SCSI drive at the moment and it's ultra quiet in comparison to my girlfriend's Pioneer DVD-105S drive.
