Sorry to ask but.... Who would pay this much money for a box of custom cereal? My frosted wheat and maple clusters came to $7.00 bucks + $4.00 for shipping !!!!

And what's with the gotapex referer code at the top of the forms that you fill out when making your cereal?

Hell its cheaper to go to Aldi's, buy 6 boxes @ 1.79 each and hand pick all the stuff you want out of each box and feed the rest to the dog. LOL

Sorry guys I gota pass this bad boy up.

i did. twice. my "East St Louis Ho Mojo Mix" has chocolate marshmallows, cinnamon grahams, peanut butter puffs, almonds, and other sugar-coated fun. my husbands "Phuk Milk, Pour tha Beer!" Cereal (they won't let you use inappropriate language unless you happen to accidentally mis-spell it) is a granola-cherry-mango-pecan-oatmeal-wheatiepoof concoction. so for a grand total of $24, we get 14 servings of custom cereal in little disposable bowls for our camping trip next week, and $30 in amazon gc's when we get back. i also got 20 minutes worth of entertainment as i mixed and matched and came up with stupid cereal names. i am nothing if not mature.

and the code lets you in - they are limiting attendance during the launch phase.

Just like with regular cereal, I eat the crap and then I get no prize :-((

What is the deal with the Amazon GCs? I bought $20 worth of the garbage but nothing in the email or on the site about the GC

Also, it didn't let me make my own cereal, it kept saying that it wasn't "balanced nutrition".

I am totally bummed

How do I get the Amazon GC? I, too, placed my order, but haven't gotten any info on it.

Even though there have been a couple of posts about it, and even though I e-mail spigitygak and Apex about it, I have still not been informed about how to get the GC. Furthermore, the link to the cereal deal still has not been updated, even though it looks like it's a one-way ticket to getting screwed.

"Recieve A $15 Amazon GC With A Purchase At Mycereal.com"
does not seem to be true. The link makes it look like gotapex is getting a kickback for this "deal," so, it's especially shady for them to keep us in the dark.

This is the worst experience that I've had with gotapex, and I hope that they address it soon. It is a huge blemish on their usually spotless service.

calm yourself. no news is good news. they will get back with some info when they've gotten more than 2 hours of sleep at a time. your stress level will be a lot more manageable and life more pleasant if you limit your freaking out to only those occasions when you KNOW that something is wrong, rather than every time you suspect it might be...

certainly not time to start hurling insults at apex.

It would take spigity about one minute to amend the listing for this deal, adding something like "GC comes with cereal in the mail," if not "deal pulled."

The reason I got uppity so quick was that I wanted to be able to cancel the order before it shipped if it turned out to be bogus. Now, my order has shipped, and I want them to update the listing so other people don't get screwed.

Now, Now, put your guns away !!!
It looks like this site is not open to the public yet. We gotApex'rs are their guinea pigs. If they only knew that us low life cheap bastards are only buying for the $15 Amazon GC (except for me). Looks like another dot.com pissing away good venture capital. Cmon guys, are you realy going continue to buy this overpriced hype when they yank the $15 GC ? I don't see any posts about how wonderfull their custom blend of cereal was. All I see are people being pissed because they haven't heard about their freakin $15 GC. I think their idea is to try and find out just what is the most popular mix that people want. Why else would they ask you all those questions about your age, income, health and all. Sounds like free marketing research. Did you know that in 1999 the grocery industry made more money on selling NOT GROCERIES but their customers information !! ever wonder what they do with that shopers club, savings, or gold card information ? Sorry for the long post, and lets not frown on Apex, they just got suckered like the rest of us. Keep up the good work !! I love this site !!

again: feeling itchy about it is understandable, but we don't know if we're getting screwed yet or not. and apex admin may not have posted anything yet because they don't know anything yet. now go chant a few om's or something...

Fedex says my gold flaked cereal (or at least it cost that much) will arrive on Monday. I will report on its taste.

In the meantime, no Amazon GC or reference to it.

As far as the age and stuff, that is only if you make that type of selection. If you selected the other two types of cereals, they didn't ask.

I emailed them, and got this response:

Dear Consumer:

Thank you for contacting MyCereal.com with your inquiry. For that particular offer, there is nothing on the site that will confirm it. However, when you enter in the access code for that offer, it will get recorded in our database. Within one week of placing your order, you will receive an email from us with a special code that will allow you to get $15 off of your next amazon.com purchase.

We hope you find this information helpful.

Sincerely,

Sue Fenwick
