Ok, I ordered a kenwood htb-503 stereo system from an online retailer. the total including shipping came to around $470. For some reasons they had problems with my credit card and I had to jump through a few hoops to get them to send it to me. I was kinda pissed by that but now that I got it I am rather happy. The reason why is that they shipped me the htb-553 not the htb-503! Hehehe, it is so nice. i almost wet my pants when i saw it.

how much more does the 553 cost (i'm too lazy to go to the site :) )

around 490 + shipping. so i'd say somewhere around 515 with shipping

I didn't see the 553 on the web site, whats better about it?

the 553 comes with the vr-409 reciever and the 503 comes with the vr-407 reciever. the vr-409 is a bit nicer, like have a few more optical ports and such. also the 553 has a nicer remote with a built in lcd screen (even thought the screen is small, it's still cool)
