I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but any help is appreciated:

I have a computer and PS2 that has SVideo output and have plugged it into the SVideo input on a SONY television - when playing a DVD, when the scene becomes dark or close the black, the television will act as if there is no signal and blacks out.

I've consulted with the manufacturers of the video card (Creative Labs) and SONY - both have been no help. Any suggestions here - as it seems as if the signal from the DVD via SVideo is going below the threshold of the tv. When using RCA cables as a video connection - this problem does not occur.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

this happens when using both the PS2 and the computer? If so then its your TV thats messed up, If you just bought it, go exchange it for another one.

sounds like signal loss:

try using the shortest cable possible... otherwise, you may need a signal amp

appreciate the help guys - this has got to be the first real useful information i've gotten my hands on.

any chance you have a radio shack part number for me? i'm not too videographically savvy if there's such a term for it.
