Well as many of you may remember I had that damn Ford Probe that decided to blow up on me. Ford wouldnt do anything and I was royally screwed for a while. Then I got a "deal" on a replacement engine that turned out to be not so hot...it cost me twice as much as it was supposed to and basically made the repair not worth it. That being said and done, I had a car that didnt work properly, which no one was willing to fix properly, I couldnt sell privately, and probably wouldnt be bought by any dealer due to liability reasons.

Somebody suggested that I take it to a Ford dealer to see if they would take it from me and get me into something new. I had swore up and down that I would never buy another Ford product in my life, but since it was either eat it totally, including all the extra money I had shelled out to fix the car...or recoup some money and have a car that worked and was under warranty, I sucked it in and went to Ford.

I figured that my car, in its current condition, without taking into account that it had a used motor, was going to wholesale for about $8000, retail for $11,000. I also knew that they were offering a deal on F-150XLT supercabs for 1000 down only $259 a month/24 months, and I figured that if they gave me just retail on the car...after paying what was left on the loan, it would have prepaid almost the entire lease period. OF course, nothing is as it looks on the paper, and it turned out to be a manual transmission, rather than an automatic. So the price rose dramatically to about $380 a month! Well they ended up coming down on the price, taking my car, and getting the payment down to almost what I was paying under my loan. So I ended up only paying an extra $29 per month, now have a working automobile, and got rid of my thorn. The only down side is that I have another Ford, but supposedly the trucks are ok and its all under warranty. Not as sporty as I am used to but its one hell of a good looking truck.

Hey that's great! Ford trucks are much better than their cars from what I have heard anyway. I have a friend who has one and it has been a reliable vehicle.

And another plus for you is that it is much more macho, than the Probe:)

Good luck with this one, and at the first sign of trouble dump it!
