Look closely at the promo, the whole thing is free and if you upload at least 25 images and let them print them for you, you will get a free $25 GC. I haven't gone through it yet, and there may be some hidden cost (shipping maybe?).

Thanks Twiggy,
Looks like a simple deal. You order a free cd-rom with their picture program on it that allows you to upload your pictures. Service is free by OfotoNow for Amazon.com. It say the 25 prints are free, to get the $25 you have to install the software and upload 25 pictures and get them printed. There is no mention of shipping charges, I just odered the software, I'll post details when it arrives.

Hmm, title should read 'themselves' - oops.

Forgot to mention, there were no shipping charges added for the software. Total charge $0.00

I'm in the process of trying it by uploading pics without their software. Looks like there's a $2.49 shipping charge. Paying $2.49 for a $25 GC is still a good deal...assuming they come through with the GC.

I just ordered the photos, but there doesnt seem to be any confirmation that I will be getting the GC as well. Any ideas?

The software package said to go to http://www.amazon.ofoto.com/25 to request your gift certificate after you order the free prints.
Offer expires 06/30/01. One gift certificate per customer. Valid for New members only. To be eligible for free prints, register as directed at http://www.amazon.ofoto.com. Free 4 x 6" prints will be credited to your account. Free photo credits expire 60 days after you register with Ofoto. One offer per household. No substitutions, transfer rights or cash equivalent will be given.

Did any get a confirmation when submitting your info for the GC on the promo page??? I didn't, and that was a couple days ago...still have yet to see the $25 GC. Just wondering if I should resubmit my info on the promo page.

I didnt ever get any confirmation. A couple emails later with Amazon I got this:
Hello [me],
Thank you for contacting the Ofoto Customer Support Team.
We apologize for the confusion. The gift certificates will be sent via e-mail. Please allow 4-6 weeks after you place your order to receive the gift certificate. We thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,

Mreh. I was hoping they'd arrive NOW, in time to use some of those coupons that are appearing. Oh well.

when it says "new members" does it mean new members to amazon.com or to the ofoto section of amazon.com?
i remember http://www.dealhunting.com saying it was new members to ofoto...

I just uploade and ordered all my pics, $2.49 is not bad. I did not see anything about the $25 gift certificate so I emailed them about 5 minutes ago. Hopefully they will respond and give me my gc :)
Got my pictures today from my order. They looked like crap. Some were dark, some lighter. Some cropped, and some not. They are all over the place. I ususally use dotPhoto. Compared, dotPhoto by a long shot. Great service plan too.
At leaste they were free, but I'll never order again.
I called about the GC, and they did say when I placed my first order, my name and info was entered to get the GC, which he said would be here in 4-6 weeks by email.
Take care

Anyone want to send me some pictures taken with a digital camera? I don't have any pictures from digital cameras on my computer, and I would still like to get my $25. I don't care what the pictures are, I will just throw them away.

I got my pictures and I thought they looked great...they were all the right size and the quality was superb also, I was actually surprised. Were just 640x480 shots with a Fuji 1400 digi cam. Cool stuff for free.

but who cares about them...we all know all we really wanted was the $25 GC...so where is it!?! I e-mailed Amazon and Ofoto about it, and they said that it would be 4 - 6 weeks. What's up with that? Anyone know?

I would bet that the answer to your question is that it will arrive in 4-6 weeks. How complicated is that?
i don't know about y'all, but i am pretty stoked about this stuff. i mean, free $25...even if it takes a month. plus, the pix i am using are my hawaii pix. and i got them digitized for free at longs (they have an option of free 2nd set OR pix on disk). :)
