Can someone please tell me what is the recomended heat a 1.2gh AMD chip running 256 133ram on a ABIT board hear is the specks [ KT7A-RAID ] -
AMD Socket A Based ATXMainboard With Ultra DMA 100 & SoftMenuTMIII& RAID 0/1/0+1Technology

I think I have a heat problem the place where I bought my barebones system told me not to be upset till it reaches 150 or better two local tecks said its too hot
when I am not doing anything it runs around 89 to 90
the second I start working in a graphics program or start loading a new program in my cdrom or start playing a game such as Frogger it locks upthe heat is runing around 137t0 139 and I have to reboot before I try to get Xtechnologys to replace this chip I need to find out if the chip is the problem the local teck said it looked like the chip has already gotten hot and put more past on the chip as it hade none left on it I have a fan in front and a
Coolmaster DP5-6H51
Heat Sink Dimensions L60 x W60 x H36 (mm)

FAN Dimensions 60 x 60 x 15 (mm)
Rated Voltage 12 VDC
Rated Speed 4200 RPM
Air Flow 15 CFM
Noise Level 32.8 dB(
which AMD says is more then enough fan for this system
and its also set up with a 300watt power supply
I have done everything AMD recomends for running this chip
now if I could get someone who know the heat it should run
I would be very thankful as AMD OR COOLMATE OR ABIT OR Xtechnologys HAS NOT RETURNED MY EMAIL AS OF YET
thank you for your help if you know the answer

The heat question is not a certian answer, each system runs at a different temp for a lot of reasons.

By what you are saying I agree heat may be the problem, you need to run a bench mark program like SiSoft Sandra that allows you to test and burn in each piece of hardware seperately.By doing this you will isolate the hardware that is causing your lock ups.It may very well be the processor is to hot or you may have another problem. But for sure the sandra utility is a great tool for testing hardware.
