If you install a raid, like the Iwil ATA100 I just read review on got/apex, Do you have to reinstall win2k, or can you backup and restore to new raid array?

Define what you mean by backup. If you use Ghost it should be possible.

I use CD Res-q by plextor to make backups of my hard drive. The review I read mentioned hitting "s" while installing win2k, then went on to describe installing under winME. I don't want to have to re-install everything to upgrade from single drive to the much faster raid level 0. Thanks for the reply

I would think it would work to repair it after the raid is installed and the backup is put back on. Windows will think it is on IDE1 (because of the previouse install), but now it will be on IDE3 (because of the raid... at least mine went that way on the KT7a-raid.) You would have to repair the install of windows to point to where the system files are NOW.

But, then again. It might not work. Win2k is a bitch like that. It want's everything to stay the same.
