Greetings Apexers. Could someone tell me how do I disable a bunch of programs from starting up when I boot Windows98? Thanks!

Start button -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information -> Tools menu -> System Configuration Utility -> Startup tab
There is a run command for this, but I always forget it...

if i remember correctly the commad is "winconfig"...err..now that i think of it, that doesnt look right. anyways....goodbye to 98 =)

Start Run type msconfig and whamo you have the menue, go to start up tab and edit what starts up.

Does anybody know how to do it in Windows95. Because I cannot run msconfig in Win95. Thanks.

(for NT) open regedit:
go to
HKey Local Machine, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, Run
you should see your programs there
