View Full Version : Suggestions on OCing a celeron 300
Im looking to oc a slot1 celeron 300 66fsb (i think, it says 300/66 on the chip). ive had it lying around and would like to build a system with it, i have a mobo that i can use, but i think im gonna sell it and get another one. can anyone suggest a good mobo, ram and heatsink/fan for ocing it. thanks

However, I must ask. Are you kidding? :confused:
Cause if you're not. I can't help but smirk. I'd recommend a Global Win heatsink for you slot1 Celeron. And any motherboard with SoftMenu to make overclocking easy.
im only asking cuz the only thing i have tried to oc is my p3 866. so im still a begineer as far as overclocking. i wasnt to happy with the mobo i will be using when i was using it with the p3 i have right now on a different mobo. from what i have read most ppl have gotten around 450 with thier cely 300s.
I've been running a Celery 300a @ 450 on an Abit BX6-r2 for almost two years without so much as a hiccup. Nothing special for the HSF, just a dual-fan model I found at Frys Electronics down in CA, and I bumped the voltage by .1v
