I was using Linksys BEFSR41 router with cox cable modem. I didn't have any problems because everytime when I turn my computer on, I automatically link to the internet. But when I switched to Pacbell DSL. Now, everytime, when I turn on my computer, I also have to click an icon in order to get on the internet, and that icon was created by the software called "enternet 300". I live in San Diego area.

How can I use my router now, since everytime I turn on my computer, I need to manually "connect" to internet just like dailup before.

Thanks in advance

The software is probably some form of "WinPoet" which is a VPN solution for accessing DSL. If there is a place in that software that you put your user name and password then you need to connect to your router through your browser and enter that info in the setup page. Then switch to the status page and click connect and see if a connection can be negotiated. My IP address gets reset weekly but it all depends on your ISP/DSL provider. I have found that after connecting through the router I sometimes have to use "winipcfg" on Win98 machine or "ipconfig" on my win2k machine and do a release and renew to reestablish my connection to the router.Good Luck.
