shocked hard drive

hi...
i was wondering if anyone knew how i could get my hdd to work again...
what happened was that i had it connected but it was resting on the carpet, and i accidentally bumped my case and it hit the hdd...it doesn't power up anymore and the computer can't recognize anymore due to that...
does anyone have any ideas? the data was very important to me :(

Ouch! If you can't even get it to spin, your only option is to send it to a data recovery shop. You can plan on spending anywhere from $400-800 for them to recover it. Sorry...

i bought a maxtor 20gb hd and it dosnt show up on my comp. it werked for like the first couple of weeks then it started to make this choking noise. i dotn kno wut happened...good thing i didnt put anything important in there. well im planning to send it back to the manuf. unless you guys can help. :)
