It makes you not hungry. I can easily go an entire day eating little more than a granola bar and water. Course that's not the best way to diet cuz, among other reasons, you'll gain weight back *fast* as soon as you start eating. You do almost have to remember to eat. If I get busy working sometimes I just forget to eat until I feel faint.
I'm not sure if it actually speeds up your metabolism - so if you eat the same amount I don't know if you'd lose weight or not.

If we're talking about "Metabolife 356" (the product described here (http://www.metabolife.com/shop/356.html)) or one of the "generic brands" like Metabolite...

You're to take the pills an hour before meal, and it claims to speed up your metabolism and acts as an appetite suppressant. Note that it contains Ma Huang (aka ephedrine). There are quite a few conflicting "studies/reports" out there with regards to its side effects. Most "sports" or "fitness" sites/magazines sing its praises, but include warnings that accompany just about every drug. There are others out there who think otherwise (click here (http://www.ephedrine-lawyer.com/Article1.htm) for an example).

There're conflicting reports/studies out there. There's even a study that says that it gives a cocaine-like high (see here (http://www.tamu.edu/univrel/aggiedaily/news/stories/archive/083096-6.html) for study done at Texas A&M University). Assuming that you're currently reasonably healthy, you might get heart, liver, or kidney damage. There're also studies that claim ephedrine kills brain cells.

It's a "herbal supplement", which isn't regulated by the government. Dateline did a story a while back, where they found the ingredient composition of herbal supplements sold can vary from 0-400% of what's printed on the labels. You'll hear that Ma Huang has been used by the Chinese for centuries, but realize that they were never taken in such concentrated doses (Metabolife wants you to take 1-2 pills before each meal).

Bottom line? This isn't a cure-all pill for weight-loss. There are definite risks involved. I've personally tried it a few times (I'm "healthy" - no allergies, no hereditary diseases, etc), and decided it wasn't for me. My heartbeat when way up, accompanied by a rather odd feeling all from just one pill.

K-Mart sends out their flyers for their weekly specials a few days before they start. I normally get mine on Thursdays. :)

I was at Kmart tonight and Metabolife was $22.99, Metabolite was $13.99. Are you sure that it's Metabolife that's on sale?

Yo Spig... not sure where you got your info, but Metabolife is still $22.99 at my local Kmart. MetaboliTe is $13.99, but it's not the same stuff.
