I have a BCM VP1543 (socket 7) mobo with an AMD k2-450mhz cpu. The Chipset is ALI M1541/1543C AGP/PCI/ISA Chipset (Aladdin V).

Here's the site for more specs. http://www.bcmcom.com/tech/VP1543/VP1543.htm

If anyone knows how to OC this setup please let me know. It would be very appreciated. (remember... I have never done an OC before, but I do know what DIP switches are and so on)

My other question is, would a socket A cooler such as the Alpha PAL6035 fit on a socket 7?

Thanx

If I remember correctly, most of the higher K6-2s were already pretty close to their limit, and consequently didn't overclock a whole lot.

Your 450 isn't going to become a 700. You might be lucky to get 500.... probably not enough of a boost to justify the work and possible loss of stability.
