A friend of mine just moved to California with her husband. They've been in a hotel for a few days now but after tonight would like to switch to a cheaper one. The hotel has to accept pets (they have 3 dogs) and it would be for more than one night. Any suggestions? Please help!

:)

There's a Motel 7 right off the Ralston Ave. exit on 101. I think it's like 45 bucks a night. It's in Belmont, about like 20 miles from PA.

I'll give her that suggestion. How decent is it? Do they take pets? I think she's trying Priceline, but we'll see. I appreciate it!

They let me stay at a Motel 7 once if that answers your question.

Trying to keep on topic, when I tried to get a room in Silicon Valley last summer, everywhere was booked. I mean everywhere, even Pebble Beach where they had a golf tournament. I'm guessing there were a lot of grads looking for jobs up there, :hihi: not anymore :hehehmm:. I got sticker shock :eek3: from all the high prices up there. When I lived up there, there wasn't a differences in the cost of living, but dang you need shares in an rising tech IPO to survive with those crazy prices.

So as I was trying to say, Jenny, I'd be surprised if your friend found a good cheap room up there. Heck the apartment that we rented for $700 in 1994, now runs for $1200+.

My dad bought our house in the 70's for 40k...
It was just appraised for 750k...

Without accounting for inflation, (or deflation, im not sure) that is some gooooooood profit! :P

Yeah, there's a Ferrari dealership and a Hummer/Porsche/Jaguar dealership in Palo Alto. My roommate's family lives there and is considered average wealthy. All they have is 2 'Vettes, a Yukon, a Caddy, a Sebring, an Infiniti Q45, and (gasp) a Saturn. Small potatoes.

In other words, that place is exclusive with a large snobby E. Although I do drool every time we drive past the car dealerships.
