I hate sites that charge horrendously high shipping and handling fees. I'd much rather they include the S/H charges in the list price. :(

i agree... thats one reason i ordered from http://www.axiontech.com - they only charged me $13 shipping for a mobo/keyb/mouse/HD/processor/NIC/SuperORB cooler, and whatever else i can't remember that i ordered...

realize that was all seperate, not all together in a case already...

the other place i orderd the case from (and 1 stick or RAM) charged me $30 shipping... what a ripoff.

I just got a system quote from Dell. Box was about $1600 but then their ground shipping (just a system w/no monitor) was $95.00 and they even wanted to charge tax (which was over $100.00)! WTF? I've never been charged tax for an order online, and that shipping...

with my friends... where we could be a somewhat THIRD PARTY shipping company....
where only reputable sites would ship through us.. and we would charge WAY cheaper then other sites..

so basically.. if you weren't a member, your business would suffer...

but cash effective for that sort of thing is too much... and the time it would take to buid a solid infrastructure would be so time consuming and expensive, that we were likely to go OFB before anything really happened!

I recently made my first purchase at DoubleDiscount.com. This place is a bit unusual as they seperate Shipping and Handling, and tell you exactly what both will be. No real issues dealing with them, though shipping is a tad high, and the order took, say, three days longer than I thought it should.

But for the most part, I agreee that S&H should be rolled into the price of the item.

Damn Outpost! Used to deliver for free, and OVERNIGHT, no less! But no longer. Now it's only free if you order over $100 worth of stuff, so I have to buy everything all at once instead of sitting there one afternoon and saying, "I need more CD-Rs," getting them the next day, realize I need more CD labels, get those the next day, etc. Thems were the days.

I once clicked on this link to get something free and just shipping and handling. The S/H was 4.95 and when I got the thing in the mail the postage was like 75 cents. What the hell did the rest go? I refuse to believe 'handling' cost 4 bucks to put the item in flimsy paper bag and lick a stamp on it.

ugh.
