Lets see.... somehow this "fisherman" managed to find a big piece of metal and wires in the ocean IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! Was MIR made of some new metal that floats and glows in the dark? This guy selling on Ebay of course has no feedback and has recently changed his ID. He will only accept cash or money order. Sure he sounds legit, oh hell I'm going to go bid on this right now!!! This guy probably threw his old clock radio in the oven for a few hours and is now gonna take some sucker for $1000.

Even though this link is dead already, it needed to be in Off Topic because this isn't a deal. I'm moving it now so you can continue berating stupid people. :) Have fun!

Scam warning - Mir did not crash "between Australia and New Zealand" as the seller notes.
Therefore, he might have some space junk, but just not MIR.
Also, the "fishing boat captain" (same guy who picked little Elian Gonzalez from the sea??) estimates that he can return to port, 200 miles away in just under 7 days. Simple math will tell you that are resonable boat speed (20 knots) he will make it back before the end of the day and even at half that speed, it will be less than 24 hours.
maybe he has to wait til the end of the trip. however, if i found a chunk of mir, i would be there absolutely, positively overnight
